Parent orientation and open house

August 10th, 2010 No comments

Welcome new and returning students!

Parent orientation is scheduled for August 12 beginning at 6:00 PM. If you are a new parent, or started school mid-year in 2009-10 then you are required to attend. Orientation will guide you in our daily schedule, disciplinary procedures, show-and-tell, and many other day-to-day happenings. It is a great way to get to know your childs’ teacher as well as the other parents in their room. Please set aside 30-45 minutes to meet with the teachers at The Capitol Preschool.

Parent orientation is for parents only.

Open house is August 13th from 8:00-10:00 AM. Drop by with your child for a few minutes and meet his/her teachers, find your child’s cubby, turn in forms, blue cards, extra clothes, and nap mats. Parents can come anytime during the open house and are not required to stay the full two hours. We look forward to seeing you there!

The preschool children sang in four different languages and toured over 20 country tables. They were able to hear, see, and speak different languages with native speakers. Children were also allowed to taste native dishes and enjoyed playing with toys and trying on clothes from many different cultures. The experience deepened their awareness and appreiciation for our global community.

A preschooler right in the middle of the Trike-a-Thon action.

The Trike-a-Thon was a success and donations for St. Jude’s are still coming in. The last day to turn donations in will be this Friday, April 2.

A preschool student and his mom get settled into the trike track.

A much deserved break amongst friends.

This Friday is our egg hunt. If you would like to help stuff or hide the eggs please sign-up by the front door. Our hunt will begin at 9:30 a.m. and any help for the occasion would be welcomed. Bags will be provided.

International Dinner

5:30 p.m.  at Trinity United Methodist Church located on Bryant drive

Our annual International Dinner is scheduled for April 8th. The preschoolers will be performing songs in French, Spanish, German, and English.

Have you ever lived outside the United States? Consider bringing a few items from home (pictures, clothes, toys) and setting them a table for others to see. This is an easy way to get volunteer hours. Flags and stamps for each country are provided. Please sign-up to host a table this week!
