2009-10 School Calendar
|
||
|
|
As an international school, we have many parent requests for longer holidays
for families to travel. Our
calendar has fewer isolated holidays and more long weekends (8/29 - 9/1,
1/16 -1/19 & 2/13 – 2/16). We
have 3 week-long holidays (Oct. 13 – 17, Nov. 24 – 28, and March 16 – 20).
Winter break is December 20 – January 4.
We have fewer isolated days with no school and do not take holidays
the public schools take on
11/11, 1/5, 1/6, and 4/13 - 4/17.
With our extended school day, students at The Capitol School have the
opportunity to be at school 40% more (520 hours) than schools on the 8:00 –
2:30 schedule. In addition, we
offer 8 weeks of Summer
Explorations.
Parents may choose which religious holidays for their children to observe.
Please send a note to your child’s teacher to inform him/her of
upcoming holidays when your child will not attend school or will have
special needs while they are in school such as specific times for prayer or
fasting.
