Graduation
Since 2001, Capitol School has graduated twenty-five seniors with Advanced Academic Diplomas. Each student was also enrolled in the Alabama State Department of Education’s “Dual Enrollment/Dual Credit Program” with Shelton State Community College. All seniors graduated with college courses completed—several with more than 30 college credits. We have 100% acceptance into college—many with scholarships. Capitol School seniors were accepted into:

One of the highlights of each academic year is Graduation which is held outdoors on Capitol Park, site of Alabama’s capitol building from 1826 until 1846.
The first class of seniors graduated in 2001. We have been honored to have Johnny Aycock, West Alabama Chamber of Commerce; Dr. Georg von Tiesenhausen, NASA Space Scientist and “Father of the Lunar Rover”; and Rep. Artur Davis, U.S. House of Representatives as some of our graduation speakers.
