Mr. Dan Rountree is one of the founding teachers of The Capitol School where he has taught Art since 1993. He teaches art to every student in grades K-12 for two small group lessons each week. As a professional artist, he works in watercolor, oil, graphite and pastel. His art studio is a 110 year old historic building located on the new town square in downtown Tuscaloosa. Also a plein air artist, Dan has traveled widely and visited the major art galleries of the world. Dan studied art and antiquities as he earned his bachelor and master's degrees. He lived in Rome, Italy where he researched and wrote his master's thesis. Mr. Rountree's art continuing education includes classes with Joan Potter, Michael Lynch, Ken Baccus, Doug Dawson, Daniel Greene, David Laffel, Tom Browning, Michael Del Priore, Albert Handel, Gregg Kreutz, Jim Gray, Ned Bittinger, Scott Burdick, Archie Campbell and Anthony Ryder.Mr. Rountree was named Artist in Residence for the Cunard Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, and Celebrity Cruises.
