The Capitol School PTC would like to congratulate Dr. Rountree on her recent and very distinguished award. She was inducted into the University of Alabama Education Hall of Fame at a dinner and award presentation at North River Yacht Club on Saturday evening, February 17, 2018. The Tuscaloosa News also provided a photo and article in its paper on February 16th about this distinguished award. Congratulations, Dr. Rountree, on this honor and thank you for your many years of contributions and devotion to education!
Summer Explorations registration opens March 1. Please look over the Summer Explorations information or go to the Summer Explorations page for more information. Remember, summer camps are open to the public and fill up fast. Make sure to register your students soon.
We have not planned any middle school programs for Summer Explorations 2018 due to low enrollment of teens in 2017. I wanted to share my top choices of quality camp programs for middle schoolers. They all involve out of town travel for the camps. I have participated in all of these myself as a participant or leader and my own children attended these camps. All of them have my highest recommendation. Please consider giving your child these outstanding experiences!
With hope, Dr. Rountree

Hi everyone. Please open the January Volunteer Newsletter for 11 ways to volunteer. In particular, please note that we need parents to come to the Library on Tuesday, Feb. 6 at 1:00 or 4:00 p.m. to possibly be chosen for a Parent Interview by the AdvancED accreditation team. You might come and NOT be chosen but you can still count it as an hour toward your 36
volunteer hours for stopping by and being available.
