Session 4 PM PS: Art and Music Around the World

Description: Each day your child will explore the art, music, instruments and dances of a different world culture. Your preschooler will have a blast with activities introducing early music concepts, like rhythm, echoing and tempo! They will love getting messy and creative making art using the style and techniques of the other cultures. Children will be introduced to the legendary artists, musicians and performers that shaped the art, music, dance of their part of the world. Kids will experiment with the science of sound and make hand-made musical instruments. Children will also have access to real musical instruments from around the world to explore and try. Engage your child’s love of art and sensorial play while dancing to great music.
Teacher Bio: Mrs. Kaitlin Redborg is Capitol School’s Art Instructor and she co-teaches in the Freeman/Butler/Redborg Cluster ages 3-5. She has an M.F.A in Printmaking Studio Arts from The University of Delaware, a B.A in Studio Art and a B.A in Art History from Lawrence University as well as training in the Montessori teaching method. She has studied art in Florence, Italy and Chicago, with internships in New York City. She has taught art at all levels from early childhood through College and Graduate level. Past Summer Exploration classes taught by Mrs. Redborg include: The Science of Cooking, Art Explorations, Nature Art, A Bugs’ Life and many others.
Please fill out all information for each child's first registration. For additional registrations, you only have to complete the required information.
Note: This cost is for the registration fee only. You must pay the balance of the total camp cost by the first day of camp. Information will be provided in your receipt or you can pay here: SE2020 Summer Camp Balance. You should also receive an email a week prior to the start of camp with payment information. You may also pay in the office.
