Description: Have you ever wanted to design your own video game, create a cartoon, or direct a robot’s movements? These may seem like advanced college level processes, but in actuality they are completely achievable for elementary students.Through the use of innovative technology and educational programs, students as young as 5 can become familiar with the skills needed for computer programming, animation, and robotics. In this class we will use iPads, computers, Ozobots, and Bloxels to achieve our coding goals.
Teacher Bio: Mrs. Sanders is in her second year of teaching at The Capitol School. She was a lead teacher for the 5-7 year old cluster during the 2018-2019 school year. She is currently the technology teacher and After School Director. Mrs. Sanders graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2010 with her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. She received her Master’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of West Alabama in August 2019. Mrs. Sanders is from Tuscaloosa and graduated from Central High School. Mrs. Sanders uses her humor and various talents to make learning an enjoyable, lifelong desire for all her students.

Note: This cost is for the registration fee only. You must pay the balance of the total camp cost by the first day of camp. Information will be provided in your receipt or you can pay here: SE2020 Summer Camp Balance. You should also receive an email a week prior to the start of camp with payment information. You may also pay in the office.
