Session 3 AM 4-5: Hubble Space Explorations

Description: This special two-week session zooms in on our Solar System, our Milky Way galaxy and our universe! During this session, explorers will learn the history of the Hubble Telescope and what amazing images of our galaxy it gives us all the time, and discover current research projects that NASA is running today! Students will review the planets of our Solar System and learn about our place in the Milky Way galaxy. A miniature rocket launch is planned for the last day of this session!
Teacher Bio: Mrs. Shelli Lavender is a veteran teacher and reading specialist fully credentialed in both Alabama and Ohio. She has taught in both states. Having taught at The Capitol School since 2012, Mrs. Lavender is Lead Teacher for 9 - 12 year-olds during the school year. Summer Explorations is one of her favorite parts of teaching for the Capitol School. When Mrs. Lavender is not at school, you may find her helping on the family farm. She loves to read, hike, and fish when there is time! She has a son who is a welding apprentice and husband at home as well.

Note: This cost is for the registration fee only. You must pay the balance of the total camp cost by the first day of camp. You may also pay in the office.
