Description: With a name like “Going Wild with STEM,” it’s no surprise that students will be fully engaged about science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) activities. Students will learn how to construct using a variety of materials and using technology.
Teacher Bio: Kiesha Washington Matthews has been an educator for over 20 years. Mrs. Matthews began her teaching career in Capitol Heights, Maryland. She currently teaches third grade at Moundville Elementary School in Hale County. She was a co-teacher and taught in 2004 at the Capitol School. Mrs. Matthews has a B.S. degree in Elementary Education and Psychology from Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She holds a Masters Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from the University of West Alabama. Mrs. Matthews has received several honors including the CBS 42/30 Excellent Teacher Grant, West Alabama’s Teacher Recognition Grant, Star Teaching Award, and was selected as Hale County Elementary Teacher of the Year for 2013.
