Bracelet-making with a Loom! Mr. Rohn Lavender
Use a Loom for beading a bracelet! Mr. Rohn Lavender will share his talent and knowledge of beadwork with students. This special opportunity is limited to 10 participants. Each learner will design and create a traditional beaded bracelet in the method of Native Americans’ handmade beaded jewelry created on a simple loom. Other beaded jewelry will be explored and participants will have a chance to create other pieces as time allows. There is a limit of 10 students for this course.
Teacher Bio: Mr. Rohn Lavender is a retired outdoor educator and a local farmer/educator who works with students from The Capitol School as a guest instructor during the school year for special programs. He has worked with Native American artists over the years and has extensive knowledge of traditional crafts and beadwork. When he is not teaching in a classroom, Mr. Lavender works at the Lucas Learning Farm in Boligee, Alabama cultivating fresh produce and teaching young people about sustainable agriculture.

Note: This cost is for the registration fee only. You must pay the balance of the total camp cost by the first day of camp. You may also pay in the office.
