Session 5 PM 2021 2/3 PM: Art in the Park
Session 5 PM: July 26-August 6
Age / grade level: 2/3
Teacher: Mr. Dan Rountree
Additional fee: $25
Students will draw daily with professional artist and long time teacher, Mr. Dan Rountree. Close observation and learning basic skills will help the student see objects more clearly to be able to draw them. Both indoor and outdoor activities are planned. Watercolors will be introduced as students will learn how to block in the drawing prior to applying paint. We will learn to classify and paint with warm and cool colors. We will learn to create depth in a painting using the skills learned from the drawing classes. Painting outdoors is called “plein-air” as that is the French word used by 19th century French impressionism. Students will produce about 8 drawings or paintings during this 2 week afternoon class.
Plus $25 fee for student’s individual art kit consisting of art drawing pad, drawing pencils, pencil sharpener, eraser, watercolor pad, watercolor travel kit of paint & brushes—all in a carry bag!
