Session 5 2021 K/1 AM: Kidwriting
Session 5 AM: July 26-August 6
Age / grade level: K/1
Teacher: Dr. Cailin Kerch, UA Education Faculty
Description:
“I wish I had 100 hands so I could write and write and write.” -5 year old child
Growing readers and writers starts with inspiring the child to express themselves and fall in love with the act of reading and writing. “Reading is breathing in and writing is breathing out.” (Pam Allyn) In this camp, we will dive deep into reading rich stories and writing our own adventures - from monsters, to princess mermaids, to aliens walking in outer space. If a child can dream it, we can write it! We will focus in early handwriting skills and early phonics and phonemic awareness. Join us and your 5-7 year old will be a published author by the end of camp.
