John Durham

Mr. Durham previously served as the Lead Teacher for the 9–11 Year Olds Cluster at The Capitol School for seven years and brings with him 43 years of teaching experience. Throughout his career, he has taught in Honduras, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, China, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Kosovo, and Vietnam, and 5th grade in Greensboro, Alabama. Mr. Durham was instrumental in developing many of the traditions and experiences that continue to be an important part of our 9–11 Year Olds Cluster today, including the Wax Museum project. During his previous years of teaching at The Capitol School, he also led students on camping trips, bike tours, and numerous educational field trips that enriched the learning experience beyond the classroom. His passion for experiential learning and student development makes him exceptionally qualified to lead and continue the growth of the cluster.
